Stories

Basically comics, half-finished story ideas, random fantasy world crap, character stuff will be collected here.

Warning: I am a very shitty writer (I think) and also lazy. Can't promise that any of these will be finished. If anyone else finds the existing content intriguing and wants to develop them for something, feel free to contact me and we can discuss.

Characters

Various designs that have popped up over the years (translation: silly sparkle-animals from when I was 14 on DeviantArt) and I still like them a bit too much to completely erase. So here are collections of their art (by myself and sometimes other artists) and the fantasy stories about where they're from.

Story ideas

The main one:

Fantasy/scifi webcomic/graphic novel - my personal huuuuge project. Been gradually plotting, building and character-ing (?) for a decade now. The kind of story that'd normally be in novels, but I'm an utterly crap writer so will be forced to do it via illustrated comic instead. Ah well.

Lower priority but I'd still like to do sth with them one day:

Unnamed desert comic - Zari's story. An undead inhabitant of an abandoned desert continent with winds of burning magic which regularly incinerate anything alive... he has no problem with this, and lures foreign travellers inland to play with them until they die. Until one day, when he wanders too far into unknown region and gets in trouble with other predatory inhabitants. Now he has to prevent the last few bits of his corpse disintegrating, while trying to find the source of the magic winds to turn them off.

My thoughts: unsure yet. Would be tough, but fun - lots of freaky fiery mechanical explodey electric morbid stuff! My favourite!

"Summoners" - in a fantasy world, an entire tribe of people with a mystic ability to revive animal spirits from artifacts have been killed or captured. Other populations believe they were eradicated to stamp out dangerous 'witchcraft' but powerful rulers actually seek to study it, for reasons... Only a handful of exiled and runaway members are still out there across the realm. Can they save what's left of their community, and find out what the authorities are trying to use their mystic ability for, while going undiscovered themselves?

My thoughts: this is a pretty generic sort of 'rebels versus empire' setup. I'm almost ashamed of writing such bland ideas! But the concept of enchanted animal parts - people throwing claws and feathers and horns around, to create epic stampedes of animals - just sounds fun. Something dramatic could be made from this, perhaps. Lots of potential for characters with their own animal preferences, challenge of collecting powerful 'ammo', creative combat tactics, etc.

"Firefeathers" - a magically-trained murdergriffon has been sent away from civilisation, trekking out over eerily dead fantasy landscapes - dark crystal deserts, haunted industrial megacity ruins, etc. Eventually they find and begin chasing their target, another magical murdergriffon...

My thoughts: I would've loved to make this a short animation-film but that's not happening, sadly. Maybe a short comic instead.

Unnamed short comic - during war, a wandering military griffon finds a mountain village under attack by enemy soldiers, and flies down to join the battle. They soon get distracted by a strange armourless white griffon who appeared in the woods, got partially eaten by surprise dragons before being rescued. What brought the griff here? Why are they silent and weird? Where do they keep attempting to run away to?

My thoughts: started sketching, really oughta pick it up again.

Oh shit, and there's a third! - short comic about a flock of freakish cyborg-griffins raiding an underground treasure hall and battling the poor dragon guarding it. The griffons have lasers and exploding engines. You can guess how it goes.

My thoughts: actually sketched half of this one! Really need to find the time to finish. ;_;

"Waves" - I found an ancient PSD from years ago, with 9 sketched pages. Something depressing, about horses on a stormy beach. There are no words, no annotations and I didn't write up the planned story anywhere else... so the original idea is a total mystery. It will stay as a surreal mini-comic. Just a few pages of painting practice.
